A few days ago I shared a post (you can find it here) about reflecting back on the year that is wrapping up and preparing for the year ahead.
I've had this blog now for a couple of years and my posting has been sporadic at best! So I've just begun a 52 week blogging 'course' (for lack of a better word). Prompted by the e-book '52 Weeks of blogging your passion' by Tara Gentile, I will be following her 52 weeks worth of suggestions to share my creative journey, wins, struggles and products with you all.
My first task is to craft a mission statement for what I want out of my blog in the next year.
I don't think I've actually considered where this blog could really take my business before so it was a very interesting thing to sit down and narrow the focus of my blog and my purpose for writing to you all!
I will keep returning to this mission to ensure I am sticking to my reason for blogging and my reason for building my business, and given that this year, I will be building it around my third baby and trying to avoid postnatal anxiety and depression again, if it takes me 80 weeks to complete this 52 weeks of blogging, then so be it!
My mission statment for 2018 is:
Kate Made It teaches crochet and provides online tutorials and in person workshops for people to learn crochet so they too can feel and see the benefits of this versatile craft.
Kate publishes simple, modern, colourful crochet patterns to help promote a sense of calm and zen into your 'ME' time.
Kate shares and promotes the mental health and psychological benefits of crafting and making things from scratch with your hands.
Kate Made It makes and sells modern crochet blankets, home decor and items. Colorful warm unique pieces that last the test of time and can be handed down for generations.
I'd love to hear if learning crochet is one of your goals for 2018.
Happy New Years Everyone!!
