As it is freeeeeeezing cold here in Melbourne lately, I've managed to make about 3 scarves lately. So I want to share them with you all!!
So here is the first one and it is soooooo EASY!!... my Crochet Braid Infinity Scarf Pattern!!!
This pattern is perfect for beginners as there is only one stitch used!
The scarf is made in three strips, which are then braided together and the ends are sewn together.
For this scarf I used fibranatura - EDEN yarn I bought from Crumbz Craft way back a couple years for my birthday! My hubby took me there and sent me inside to spend my birthday money... heaven! Also... I might have gone over the budget by a fair bit! oops.
I used a 10mm hook for this project as I wanted a nice squishy feel to the scarf. Tension isn't critical for this scarf, it just depends how tight you want the stitches. I crocheted this one fairly loose to add to the squishy tension!
Crochet braid infinity scarf
Begin by chaining 138. My scarf doubles over snugly so if you would like a looser doubled infinity scarf, simply increase the number of chains in your foundation row.
Row 1: Skip the first 2 chains, half treble crochet (UK) in next chain to end. Turn work
Row 2: Chain 2, Half treble in front loops of the previous row across to end. Turn.
Row 3: Chain 2, Half treble in diagonal part of stitch in previous row to end. Turn
(As per pic below)
Row 4: Chain 2, Half treble in front loops only to end. Turn.
Row 5: Chain 2, Half treble in back loops only to end. Fasten off. Leave the end long for sewing the ends together.
Make three exactly the same in your choice of colours.
Then it's time to braid/plait them!
If you're not sure how to plait, lay all three pieces out together, and taking turns left to right, move the outer piece to the middle. Careful not to let the top ends unravel as you don't sew anything together until the whole length is braided.
Once the whole scarf is braided it's time to sew the ends together. One at a time, Use the tail you left to sew the ends together.
And Voila! Braided infinity scarf all ready to keep you warm this winter!
Have you tried the braided infinity scarf pattern before?
