At the end of each year my bestie and I write up 5 new years resolutions for the coming year. This year I thought it would be fun to write up some crochet resolutions as such. There are so many things I want to do in the crochet/crafty world, so I thought, if I have a 'to do' list, the chance of me actually doing things increases.
Here is my 2016 Crochet To Do Wish List.
1. Yarn Dyeing Workshop - DONE!!
In January I attended a Botanical yarn dyeing workshop which you can read about here. Ticking this off has kick started my 2016 Crochet Bucket list nicely.
2. Do some Botanical yarn dyeing of my own and make a project with hand dyed yarn
I have bought my first undyed skein of yarn ready to attempt botanical dyeing at home. And I have 2 bags full of eucalyptus leaves and ivy leaves to test out what colours I can achieve!
3. Make some projects with yarn I haven't used before.
The skein below is gorgeous baby alpaca which I have never used before. This wool is gorgeous and so soft! I think I will use it to tick 2 items off my 2016 to do list.
4. Learn Tunisian crochet.
I have a plan to use my soft grey alpaca wool to make an infinity scarf with Tunisian crochet!
5. Do a crochet-along
I don't know which one yet. But when i find it I'll know. I did love the Sophie's Garden crochet-along, I'm just very undecided still!
6. Australian sheep & wool show - July 15-17
From the photos I saw last year I will love this event. Just have to get the day or night off from the family!
7. Crochet rugs - Hooked yarn
I have a stack of fabric yarn sitting in my stash and plenty of ideas in my head of rugs I could make, I just haven't prioritised this yet. But I did get all new jumbo hooks for Christmas, so this will be the year I finally make a fabric yarn floor rug.
I am also making a couple of blankets on top of this wish list. I am making a wedding present blanket, a special request for my sister-in-law, and some local footy club blankets as well.
All in all 2016 looks like it will be my biggest crochet year yet! Well maybe until Ethan starts crawling!!
I'd love to hear what your goals are for 2016. Even if they aren't crochet related!
